Veronica Tan

Managing Director at Golden Archway. More than ten years in operations management inside the construction industry, and the author of our BCA licensing and contractor registration guides.

Veronica Tan spent over a decade in operations management at a construction-related company before joining Golden Archway, where she is Managing Director. That is where her BCA knowledge comes from: not from reading the guidelines, but from running the operations that had to satisfy them, year after year, across workheads, grades, renewals and the manpower that depended on them.

It is a useful background for this work, because BCA registration is rarely defeated by the rules themselves. It is defeated by records: a track record filed under the wrong workhead, a completion certificate nobody kept, a technical employee whose qualification does not match the definition, an application submitted three weeks before the Work Permits expire. Veronica has been on the operations side of all of those.

At Golden Archway she leads the BCA licensing and contractor registration practice, advising construction firms on which workhead and grade actually fit their business, what the Approved Person and Technical Controller appointments require, how registration changes a company's foreign-worker position, and how to close a qualification gap when nobody in the company yet meets the bar. She also brings eight years in the immigration and consulting business, which is what allows the licence and the Employment Pass to be planned as one piece of work rather than two.

She writes the Golden Archway insights on construction and BCA matters. Where BCA revises its classes, workheads or criteria, as it regularly does, she updates the guidance and confirms the current figures for each client's situation.
