PR applicant categories
ICA lists eligible applicants including EP and S Pass holders and specified family relationships. Different categories need different evidence. Use the checklist in ICA’s application process for your category; another applicant may need different documents.
Documents commonly needed for a PR application
- Identity and travel documents.
- Marriage, birth and other family relationship evidence where relevant.
- Qualifications and employment history.
- Salary, tax and employment records for the applicable period.
- Company and business information where relevant.
Prepare only the documents applicable to your case and follow the stated translation, certification and file requirements. Do not upload private records through an ordinary first-enquiry form.
What does six months mean?
A requirement for six months of payslips concerns evidence. ICA does not publish a universal six-month EP or S Pass holding gate. Its stated processing time for complete applications is generally six months, with some longer cases; this is a third, separate concept.
Check consistency before submission.
Names, dates, employer details, family relationships and income should be consistent across the form and evidence. Explain genuine changes rather than modifying records. Missing information or inaccurate declarations can require further review.
Help preparing your PR documents
We check the documents required for your applicant category, identify missing records and check dates and details for inconsistencies. ICA assesses the application and decides the outcome. A complete checklist, a consultant’s involvement or a high salary does not guarantee approval.
After submission
Use our PR processing-time guide to distinguish the general timeline from status checks and document requests.
Build an index before uploading documents
| Record group | Check |
|---|---|
| Identity and relationships | Names, birth dates, family links and current passport details. |
| Education and employment | Award details, employment dates, salary and employer records requested for the category. |
| Translations | The required form of translation or certification under ICA instructions. |
| Previous applications | Changes in employment, family or other declared particulars. |
Use the current category-specific ICA checklist as the controlling list. Give files clear names and check each scan for missing pages, cut-off text and readability. If information differs between documents, resolve or explain it before submission rather than leaving the assessor to guess.
Ask before sending unnecessary sensitive records to an adviser. Keep an organised copy of what was actually filed so a later request can be answered consistently. The EP-to-PR guide explains record keeping over time; it does not replace the checklist.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a checklist copied from another applicant?
Use ICA’s current checklist for your own category. Another person’s document list may not apply.
